ready for xmas?!

I know it’s september, I’m not gone mad, but if you want to buy handmade for xmas, you should start thinking about what you would like to give, handmade is not ready made, it has some time to be realized, moreover if you want a personalized and one of a kind present to make your lovely ones happily surprised.

blue, bold and bright

I really love when illustrations are fulfilled of details, they attract your attention and take you inside their world. I talked about this some time ago, if you want you can read here the older post titled exactly life is in details.

at the same time I think that it’s stunning when illustrations with just two colors and few lines can create a feeling. I’m charmed by these mix between illustration and graphic design.
plain colors and the right arrangement in the empty space can say a lot and can make you create your own story instead of following one.

sato kanae is a japanese illustrator and her pieces are bright, bold, adorable, incredibly eye catching, I can’t stop pinning them! and I totally love the little blue dressed girl making a bow…

a splash of relax

actually, I do not really love having bath…

but images of people having bath are always so relaxing and calm. you can hear the silence, that no-sound you hear when you submerge your ears in the water. the idea of bath itself is tempting, but then, when you are in the water, it’s not so comfortable, don’t you think?

Feeling sleepy…

after a night passed out cuddling and rocking and singing lullabies, [these damn canines do not want to come out…] you go on all day yawning and waiting for the evening to come…

but days are so long when you are tired… thank gods today is a sunny day! and canines are the last step of teething!! yay!

Bugs!

well, it did not happen while we were picnicking but the story is the same…
I was trimming the grass yesterday evening and a spider bite me on my butt…
and now I have an itching and big bump. uff…

green Fairy dress

ci sono quei giorni in cui ci si sveglia e si vorrebbe indossare un colore in particolare.
forse dipende dall’umore, dai sogni che abbiamo fatto nel corso della notte,
dal cielo che vediamo appena svegli là fuori dalla finestra.

sono sempre stata affascinata dai quadri paint by number, quelli vintage dai soggetti 
lirici, montagne, grandi laghi, alberi e boschi, cervi e orsi..

restando in tema di mazzi di fiori, oggi vi mostro queste illustrazioni della 
bravissima irene rinaldi tratte dal libro fatti il mazzo, uscito oggi nelle librerie e
scritto da irene cozzanti, fondatrice di twentytrees, studio di progettazione del verde.

potete trovarlo presso la fioreria in cascina cuccagna a milano, “una bottega di fiori 
di stagione, essenze dimenticate, piante biologiche e fiori poco comuni” oltre che
luogo di meravigliosi workshop su fiori, piantine e creazioni verdi.

non so voi ma io da piccola ho sempre amato i libri con le illustrazioni molto dettagliate, 

fitte di elementi, di quelle che ogni volta che le riguardi scopri qualcosa che ti 

era sfuggito la prima volta, un elemento nascosto, un messaggio per il lettore, un 

oggetto che non dovrebbe essere li. 

watercolor wonderland

ieri ero su pinterest [virr’s pinterest] che gironzolavo e ho trovato questi splendidi 

acquerelli di Marion Barraud: incredibile come lei riesca a dare vita a delle semplici 

macchie d’acqua e colore [che sembrano le macchie di una tovaglia dopo un giorno 

di festa] e creare dal niente personaggi, animali e mondi incantati.
